In response to the spread of COVID-19, Chiba Prefecture is taking steps to ensure the safety of visitors. Various tourist spots are also working on measures such as social distancing, the wearing of masks, disinfection, and thorough temperature checks. This video is a proposal for a new style of travel in Chiba Prefecture. Please check it out.
Please click here for a table summarizing the measures taken to cope with the spread of infection at major tourist facilities in Chiba Prefecture.
As the table shows, most facilities are working to improve their levels of safety and security by taking measures such as improved ventilation, staff wearing masks, and disinfection. In addition, facilities are requiring that visitors take their own temperature and practice social distancing. For the latest information about individual facilities, please also check their official websites and SNSs.
Public transportation systems are also taking measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Major railroads are recommending that people avoid rush hour and crowded train cars. Major airlines are also taking measures such as encouraging people to keep the amount of luggage they carry to a minimum. Airports are also taking various prophylactic measures, such as limiting the number of available seats.
If traveling before COVID-19 has settled down, we’re all encouraged to follow the “new travel etiquette” to decrease the risk of infection.
The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) is actively requesting all locations to implement measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We have a pictogram chart to show the measures taken by various tourist locations.
